I received this email today. Please use your voice and call your congressman.

David (Attridge),

You’ve helped us in the past, signing letters on issues critical to the issues of addiction and recovery. Now we need your help once again – this request is urgent. We need you to call and email your Congressman TODAY and urge them to vote NO on the American Health Care Act.

The House of Representatives intends to vote on the American Health Care Act today. Some of the changes to the bill under discussion would be devastating for individuals suffering with substance use disorders. The most recent talks include stripping outEssential Health Benefits from the bill – which includes protecting coverage for mental health and substance use disorders.

With 1 in 3 families directly impacted by the addiction crisis and overdose deaths now outnumbering car accidents, it is difficult to imagine that our Congress is considering a reform to our health care system that will make it MORE difficult for those suffering—individuals and their families—to seek help. But that is precisely what the American Health Care Act will do as it is currently written.

We need your voice, your story and your activism TODAY. Please, click here to call and email your Representative NOW and urge a No vote on the current version of the proposed American Health Care Act.

Regards,
